What we do

Engineering, from the supply intake to the screen

Helena works across the electrical, energy, automation and software layers of a site — which is what makes it possible to solve a problem that crosses all four.

What we do
  • INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING & CONTROL

    Automation & Industrial Systems

Industrial control, PLC programming, control panel development and automation integration for processes and equipment. We work towards making operations more consistent, observable and manageable.

  • BUILDING TECHNOLOGY & CONNECTIVITY

Connected building systems for security, control and visibility

Smart building installations, CCTV, alarms, access control and connected infrastructure for homes, commercial premises and other facilities. We bring together the devices and systems that help people monitor and manage their environments.

How we work

From first conversation to handover

How we work
  1. 01 — Understand the requirement

We begin by discussing the problem, the intended outcome, and the conditions in which the solution must operate. Where necessary, this includes a site visit, inspection, or review of the existing system.

  2. 02 — Assess the options

We examine the technical requirements, practical constraints, safety considerations, and available approaches. The aim is to identify a solution suited to the actual situation rather than introduce unnecessary complexity.

  3. 03 — Define the scope

Before work begins, we establish what the project involves, the proposed approach, the materials or resources required, and the expected deliverables. This provides a clear basis for agreeing on the work.

  4. 04 — Implement the solution

We carry out the agreed work, whether that involves installation, system integration, configuration, maintenance, or technical development. The emphasis is on sound execution, appropriate practices, and attention to detail.

Africa Doesn't Have a Technology Problem. It Has a Systems Problem.

Africa's material challenges are not caused by a lack of advanced equipment, but by a failure to build the industrial support ecosystems needed to keep hardware running. Fixing this requires shifting focus from photogenic procurement to ...

The Future Belongs to Companies That Can Cross the Boundaries

Modern hardware demands that software, thermal, electrical, and mechanical design function as a single continuous system. To build breakthrough products, companies must replace traditional departmental handoffs with unified teams.

The Problem With Designing for the Perfect User

Designing for an idealized "phantom user" leaves systems vulnerable and shifts the blame for design failures onto real human error. To build safer, more effective products, designers must test their assumptions against actual behavior.
